October is finally here!! My favorite month of the year!! I LOVE the changing weather… the falling leaves… that new smell in the air… and all things Halloween!! This year I decided it was time for a new Front Door Wreath to welcome the Trick or Treaters, so I headed out for a little Halloween shopping trip to Michaels to see what inspiration I could find.
I love the Grapevine wreaths for Halloween. When paired with the right accessories, they can have that eerie forest feeling! You can usually find grapevine wreaths for a reasonable price. I chose a 23″ diameter wreath. I also found some spooky looking stems in the floral department, along with some black spray paint, and a black crow/raven. To be honest, I picked up several more Halloween inspired trinkets, but once I started to put this wreath together, I realized that less is more! I’m sure I’ll find something else to do with the rest of my findings!!

What you need you recreate this look:
- Grapevine Wreath
- Black Spray Paint (2+)
- Black Willow Stem
- Black Crow or Raven
- Black Floral Wire
- Wire Cutters
1. Using the Black Spray Paint, spray the Grapevine Wreath. I would recommend buying 2 cans of paint. It can be difficult to get in between all of those branches. I did MANY rounds of paint, and felt like I noticed a natural branch EVERY time I moved the wreath!
2. Secure the crow or raven to the base of the wreath with the black wire.
3. If you were able to find a spooky looking black floral stem, use your wire cutters to separate the individual branches. If you were not, a regular weeping willow will work. Just spray paint it black. Moss would also work. Feed the individual branches thru the grapevine around the crow or raven. This part may take some trial and error. I just started adding one piece at a time until I liked the look. If the branches are not secure, use your wire to secure them to the wreath.
4. For an added Halloween touch, I found some raw edge black ribbon, and wrapped the wreath hanger.
Your wreath is ready to hang!
This year I paired this wreath with tons of pumpkins and a few dead guests to complete my Halloween Front Entry. Let the trick or treating begin!
Wow your guests on the inside with a few ideas for your Halloween dinner table….. a Halloween Dinner Party, a Macabre Party Game, and some Skeleton Hand Place Card Holders…
