I was lucky enough to have 2 of my best girlfriends fly into town this weekend for a Girl’s Weekend. We all live in different cities, and it’s been years since the three of us were together…. not to mention all three of us have Fall birthdays! This was definitely a weekend to celebrate… celebrate our friendship, celebrate our birthdays, celebrate the women we’ve all become… What better way to celebrate than Champagne!!
On Saturday, we headed into Downtown Roswell, Georgia to spend the day. It was a day full of eating, drinking, reminiscing, and of course shopping!! Late in the day, we found ourselves in Roswell Provisions…. the cutest little French Bistro and Market! After a bit of shopping at their bakery, we were officially inspired, and knew just what the next day would bring! We picked up Champagne Truffles, Raspberry Macarons, Apple Turnovers, and Raspberry Danish. Our Sunday morning would be filled with Champagne, Raspberries, and Apples…. and our Mimosa Bar was born!
A girl must have choices!! So we had a few options for Mimosa mixers…..
Apple Cider Mimosa – Apple Cider, Champagne, and a Cinnamon stick. This Mimosa just screamed Fall! I know, I know – everything in the Fall is either Apples or Pumpkins… but there was an Autumn breeze in the air and the leaves were falling around us… We had no choice! Top this drink off with a cinnamon stick for a true Fall experience. The smell of cinnamon drifts into your nose as you sip the mimosa! Perfection!
Traditional Mimosa with a twist – Orange Juice, Champagne, and Raspberries. I am a girl who likes tradition, so it wasn’t a mimosa bar without that traditional OJ & Champagne! For a fun twist, I froze raspberries on a skewer…. not only is it pretty, but you now have a stirrer, a little something to keep your champagne cold.. and a tasty treat when the glass is empty!!
Champagne and Chambord – Get down to business and skip the juice! Instead, we added a splash of Chambord Liqueur to the Champagne. This Raspberry flavored Liqueur added a nice touch of sweetness and went perfectly with our Raspberry and Apple theme! We also tried a splash of Chambord in our traditional mimosas as yet another combination.
For hours we laughed, we drank, we ate… it was a perfect Sunday afternoon….. but alas – Stevie Nicks was calling our name. The Mimosa Bar came to end so we could rush off to catch Stevie perform. Mimosas and Stevie Nicks – what better way to end a Girl’s Weekend! Until next time!!
