I’m feeling inspired by my local bagel shop today! They have a case of cream cheese spreads that rivals an ice cream parlor’s display of desserts! They offer a flavor of the week… which made me think… why don’t I create a flavor of the week? OK… maybe month. So… here it goes – my 1st Flavor of the month!
I’m a big fan of olives of all kinds. For this spread, I chose Pimento Stuffed Green Olives. Their taste is just strong enough to give your cream cheese a punch, but not so overpowering that you wont taste whatever you spread it on! I like to buy olives by the pound at a grocery’s olive bar, but if you don’t have access to an olive bar, the jarred olives work too.
Simply let your cream cheese sit out until softened. Finely chop your olives… I use an electric “mini chopper” for mine”.. but an old fashioned knife works too. Then mix the two together until thoroughly blended. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve. Enjoy on sandwiches, bagels, toast, or crackers!
