I throw A LOT of parties…. and this is just one of those dishes I can count on every time. Put out a bowl of these and I guarantee only crumbs will remain at the end of the night!
Now… there are a lot of “Pigs” recipes out there…. why are these the best?? I should tell you.. I make that statement with confidence. While Pigs in a Blanket are a relatively simple appetizer to make, with very few ingredients…. time and time again, I have friends telling me that their pigs just never quite taste like mine. There’s a secret ingredient….. and it’s time for me to share with the world. Drum roll please…… Chicken Hot Dogs!!
There’s a little something special about the dipping sauce, too. I know, I know – It’s just 2 basic ingredients… What’s so special? Honestly, I have no idea, but I get asked ALL OF THE TIME… What is that Sauce?!?! It’s Fantastic! I usually don’t have the heart to tell guests that it’s just mayo & mustard! Here’s an opportunity to add a little intrigue and mystery to your cooking and tell your guests it’s your Secret Recipe!
- 3 (8 oz) packages Refrigerated Crescent Roll Dough
- 2 packages of 8 Chicken Hot Dogs
- 1 cup Mayonnaise
- ½ cup Brown Mustard
- Preheat Oven to 375
- Unroll Crescent Dough
- Separate dough into 24 triangles (8 per package)
- Cut each triangle down the center resulting in 48 triangles
- Cut each hot dog in thirds
- Lay a dough triangle flat with the point down
- Place a hot dog piece on the top edge of the dough triangle
- Roll the dough and hot dog towards the point
- Place on ungreased cookie sheet
- Repeat for the remaining hot dogs
- Bake 12 minutes
- Mix mayonnaise and mustard
